What can the Reeves County landfill take?

The Town of Pecos City landfill, at 4990 State Hwy 17, is the Reeves County disposal site we could verify. It is a TCEQ arid-exempt landfill. Since June 20, 2025, it no longer accepts concrete, asphalt, heavy rocks or brick, and it also bans tires and steel-reinforced concrete.

Fines for violations there run from $500 to $5,000. That is why heavy-debris jobs anywhere in the county start with a phone call. See concrete and dirt dumpsters for how heavy loads are sized.

Can a dumpster sit on a Reeves County road?

We could not find a published Reeves County rule for roll-off dumpsters on county roads or in the right-of-way. Call the Reeves County offices in Pecos before placing one there. Setting the bin on your own ranch or yard, back from the county road, keeps it out of truck traffic.

Lease sites also need the landowner's OK. The placement guide shows the straight-line approach a Reeves County drop needs.

What should rural Reeves County renters plan for?

Plan for distance, gates and debris type. A rural drop may sit on a dirt or caliche road with a locked gate. Send a GPS pin, the gate code and a list of what you will load. Heavy debris needs a call before booking.

A drop the driver can't reach on a Reeves County ranch road brings the $125 trip fee.

What goes where in Reeves County?

The Reeves County landfill we could verify, run by the Town of Pecos City, turns away a lot. Tires, batteries and paint are banned there, and since June 2025 so are concrete, asphalt, rock and brick. Household trash, construction debris and brush are still accepted. Fines for banned loads run $500 to $5,000.

How do our trucks reach Reeves County?

Reeves County drops come west from Odessa on I-20, across Ward County and into Pecos. US 80 and I-20 tie the old railroad towns together along that line. For a ranch or yard outside Pecos, give the dispatcher your I-20 exit or highway, plus a GPS pin and the gate code.

Pecos claims the world's first rodeo, held on July 4, 1883. The town grew 47.1% from 2010 to 2020, to 12,916 people.

Reeves County dumpster rental questions

How far into Reeves County do you deliver?

We serve Odessa and towns within about 80 miles. Pecos, ZIP 79772, is on our list. For a ranch, yard or lease site elsewhere in Reeves County, call with the address or a GPS pin and we will tell you whether we can reach it.

Does the Pecos concrete ban affect jobs outside the city?

The ban is a rule of the Town of Pecos City landfill, so it matters wherever debris would go there. Since June 20, 2025, that landfill no longer takes concrete, asphalt, heavy rocks or brick. Call before you book any heavy-debris load in Reeves County and describe the material.

Can brush from a Reeves County ranch go in a roll-off?

Brush and tree limbs can go in our roll-off, and they are light for their size, so a 20 or 30-yard holds a lot. Cut long limbs so they lie flat and stay level with the rim. If you self-haul instead, the Pecos landfill page says brush goes in its Type IV trench.

Can I rent a roll-off from the Pecos landfill instead?

The Town of Pecos City landfill says it leases its own 30-yard roll-offs to residential and commercial customers. Our dumpsters come in 10, 15, 20, 30 and 40 yards, with 7 days and set tons included. Compare the sizes on our dumpster size guide.
